Privacy policy

FIZO collects only what it needs to put you in touch with the professional you chose, and it never sells your details.

Who we are

FIZO (fizo.com.au) is operated by The Trustee for The Reid Family Trust, ABN 36 771 121 477, trading as Reid Media, Gold Coast, Queensland. We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

If you are looking for a professional

You can search and read FIZO without giving us anything. We collect your details only when you choose to:

We keep a copy of each enquiry so we can deal with problems, stop spam and abuse, and see whether FIZO is working.

If you run a business

When you list, claim or manage a practice we collect your name, email, the business details you give us and anything you add to your listing. Listing details are published, because that is the point of a directory. We also check your business against public registers such as those kept by the Tax Practitioners Board and ASIC, and show the result.

Payments for paid plans are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

Who else handles your information

We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They handle your information only to provide their service to us:

Some of these providers may process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose providers with strong security and privacy commitments.

Beyond that, we share your details only with the businesses you asked us to contact, or where the law requires it. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not give it to advertisers.

Cookies and tracking

FIZO does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. If you sign in as a business owner, a cookie keeps you signed in. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary cookies to protect the site from attacks.

Email

We email you only about something you did: an enquiry you sent, a listing you submitted or claimed, or your account. If we ever start a newsletter you will have to opt in, and every newsletter will have an unsubscribe link.

Keeping it safe

Information is stored with access limited to the people who need it, and sent over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach is likely to cause you serious harm we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the law requires.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email admin@fizo.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are first.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your information, email admin@fizo.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

We will update this page if what we do changes. Last updated 1 October 2026. See also our terms of use.
